Introduction

This privacy policy explains how we process your personal data on our website.

Controller

For the controller responsible for data processing, please see our legal notice.

Collection of general information when you visit our website

Whenever our website is accessed, our system automatically collects general data and information. This information is stored in the server's log files. The information collected may include the browser types and versions used, the operating system of the accessing system, the website from which an accessing system reaches our website (known as the referrer), the subpages accessed on our website, the date and time of access to the website, an Internet Protocol address (IP address), the Internet service provider of the accessing system, and other similar data and information.

Use of Independent Analytics

We use Independent Analytics on our website to analyse visitor numbers. This tool runs locally on our server, which is located in Germany, and collects data to statistically analyse the use of our website and improve our services. Data is processed on the basis of your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Independent Analytics is particularly privacy-friendly because it does not set cookies or store personal data, ensuring full GDPR compliance.

Embedding YouTube and Vimeo through embed links

Our website uses embed links to integrate video content from YouTube and Vimeo. YouTube is operated by Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and Vimeo by Vimeo Inc., USA. When you play a video through an embed link on our website, YouTube or Vimeo may collect data about your browsing behaviour. Please note that, as the provider of these pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how YouTube or Vimeo uses it.

Newsletter

  1. Our website offers the option to subscribe to our newsletter. Once you have subscribed, we will regularly inform you about the latest news relating to our services. A valid email address is required to subscribe to the newsletter. To verify your email address, you will first receive a registration email that you must confirm by following a link (double opt-in). When you subscribe to the newsletter on our website, we process personal data such as your email address and name on the basis of the consent you have given. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example through the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or by contacting us through the channels listed above. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
  2. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we also store your IP address and the date and time of registration. Processing this data is necessary to demonstrate that consent has been given. The legal basis is our legal obligation to document your consent (Article 6(1)(c) in conjunction with Article 7(1) GDPR).
  3. We also analyse reading behaviour and the opening rates of our newsletter. On the one hand, we evaluate the data generated when our emails are delivered and accessed in aggregated and anonymised form (delivery rate, opening rate, click rates, unsubscribe rate, bounce rate, visits and conversions) to measure the use and success of the emails. The legal basis for analysing our newsletter is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and the processing serves our legitimate interest in optimising our newsletter. You may object at any time by contacting us through one of the channels listed above.
  4. On the other hand, we also evaluate the data generated when you access and use these emails (time of opening, hyperlinks clicked and documents downloaded), as well as browsing data on subsequent web pages, on a personal basis in conjunction with your email address. This also enables us to send you individualised information in the future that takes your interests and needs into account as fully as possible. We use the anonymous and personal data collected to provide you with personalised content and individualised information in our promotional emails and on subsequent web pages. The legal basis for data processing in connection with emails is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example through the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or by contacting us through the channels listed above.
  5. We use the service Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), provided by Sendinblue GmbH, to manage subscribers, send the newsletter and perform analyses. We therefore transfer your email address to this service provider. If you do not want this service provider to process your data, you should not subscribe to the newsletter or should unsubscribe from it.

Your rights

You have the right to obtain information at any time about the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to have your personal data corrected, blocked or erased, except where data must be retained as required for business transactions.

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy to ensure that it continues to comply with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services in the privacy policy.
